So what is everyones views on such marriages, Should we advise or keep quite?

Incompatible marriages

She’s getting married in the morning

But I feel like crying

It’s a marriage of disaster

And won’t last her

She thinks it’s for life

But it’s going to end in tears

Heartbroken, letdown, disillusioned

Abused and treated like dirt

Some of the traits

Of her new family to be

I should speak

But why can’t her family see

It’s crystal-clear

But some think I’m confused

A kill joy

So I remain silent

Let the marriage continue

Heading for disaster

But what if it’s averted

Would they live happily ever after?

He’s getting married this afternoon

to the woman he thinks will complete his life

But he’s unaware

of her undisclosed past

Has she told him?

And will he care?

Shall I say something?

And prevent problems in the future

He’s bound to find out

Without a doubt

What if it’s on the wedding night?

Will he not care or have a big fright

The past should remain in the past

Let sleeping dogs lie they say

But for some the past, present

Equal the future

Some are old fashioned

Believe in chastity and honour

Offended easily

And will even kill for it

They’re getting married this evening

So compatible like a dream come true

Pity about their families

Who will spoil their destiny?

Use them as a pawn

To score points

Against each other

Should I bother?

And warn and advise

Or keep quite and know my place

What to do, what to say?

Some people hide their bad habits

And trap people like a rabbit

Some parents don’t care

Who their children marry

As long as they fulfil their fard

And responsibility

And get what they want

Status, alliances and money

Grand children and a burden offloaded

So what advise should we give?

If we express our opinions

They just won’t believe

Some say love is blind

And advising them may seem unkind

Make many enemies

And upset the extended families

So the only thing I recommend

With which no one can argue

Is ask them to make dua

And pray Istikhara

May Allah guide everyone to what is best

In this life and the next
