Same thing. The word London used to be confined to just Central London before but now it is generalised to the areas around it aswell.

I might be travelling there by car as parking should be free after 5/6pm. You big baby, I'll drop you off at Whitechapel so you can take the 25 bus from there. There's also an underground station so if it's open then you can use that.

I can confirm the venue in Manchester has free parking and parking on the road and side streets is permitted and free.
