I don't really see the difference between mutah and fornication?


It also sounds a bit like prostitution to me.


It [i]is[/i] done in secret though isn't it? Do you make your parents aware when you enter a mutah marriage?


How would you feel if your sister or daughter said they were going to enter into a mutah marriage for 5 days let's say?


(I hope you don't mind, just want to know what you as a Shia Muslim think regarding the above.)

Yes, the companions did do it but it was banned and then allowed several times but the agreement now by scholars is that it is NOT allowed.


The only people who disagreed were the Shia's, or Shiites.

lol you wouldnt be saying that if you were in my shoes. I say enjoy the gap year and come back refreshed and ready for the hard work. I think you tend to do better once you have had some time out. Yeah practice interviews start in 2 weeks, it gonna be a disaster. You got to record yourself and i dont mean just the voice. You have to set up the recording machine thingy yourself and i know something gonna go wrong coz me and modern technology just dont get on.

You may not see it, but Prophet (pbuh) could when he permitted his Sahabas to go ahead and do it.


If it is fornication as you say, then you must be quite ashamed that Sahabas committed "fornication".


It is not Zina my brother. You need to have respect for those things that Prophet (pbuh) said are Halaal. So, please don't let your hatred of Shias sway your emotions. As a Muslim, we all should only by Quran and Sunnah.

Mutah involves a social contract with a short expiry.

Firstly, actually I do not have a hatred for Shia's. I just asked you a few questions on what you practice. If you can't or won't answer them then that's fine.


Secondly, I could then tell you that you need to have respect for those things the Prophet (pbuh) made haram, but I'm not going to as I know we have different opinions on this matter and I accept that.


I only asked you about this because I think, but maybe I'm wrong, that in this day and age these women lose more than just their virginity in such a marriage? Am I wrong in thinking that most brothers want a pure virgin wife? If your prospective wife told you she had had 50 mutah marriages would that change things? Why?


And I'm female. Which is probably moreso the reason why I'm curious about how you view Muslim sisters who enter into mutah marriage.

Yes, you are right my sister; most men do prefer a virgin for a full time wife; but we are not talking about that sort of marriage.

In Mutah marriage, our Prophet (pbuh) allowed his Sahabas to enjoy any unmarried woman, virgin or non-virgin, for 3 days or even less. Most of them married widows for a few days.

Sahabas were not looking for virgins only for part time wives. They just wanted short term partner. And God allowed them this. Why wouldn't He?

They can be taken as permenant wife as well. I know many brothers who have taken such women as good wives.

It is allowed to marry non-virgins too you know.

Some of my mates admire such women who have refused to go into dating game. They never went out with boyfriends. Rather these girls did it the Islamic way. They did not committed zina on "dating". They pleased Allah by lawfully marrying.

How can any believer reject a woman who has done no haraam act. I would be willing to one day marry such a girl and make her a permanet wife. it would be an honour. But I would never marry a girl who commit adultry or fornication. Zina is Haraam.

Our Ayatollah teach us that any boy or girl who satifies their sexual urges only through pure and halal methods as permitted by Allah, they both get reward of 2 hajjs.

I see many boyfriends girlfriends going out with each other doing haraam stuff. They feel guilty and hide in other towns.

When Islam has provided a Halaal way, I dont understand why they still insist on Haraam path. Maybe they dont know Islam gives a solution. In ignorance many people commit sinful acts. May Allah forgive them.

That's good to hear. Although I doubt there are many male species who would be content or unaffected knowing his wife had several intimate partners before him. So you wouldn't have any concerns if your sister/daughter told you they were going to enter into a mutah marriage for a few hours?


It doesn't seem as though mutah marriage is totally in the open either though.

How can you say that my sister. I am shocked.

Most of Prophet's marriages were with women who had several intimate partners before him. Because most of society does not like it that is why it is not in the open.

In this country, having more than one wife is against the law. That is why muslim men who have 4 wives as Islam allows cannot be open about it.

They have to practice their faith secretly.


Today brothers and fathers seem to turn a blind eye when they know full well their daughter has a boyfriend and maybe up to no good. So why would a believing person object to mutah if his daughter wanted marry someone, say during their term in college. Our brainwashing makes us accept sin but not what is Halaal. It is simply a marriage with an agreed seperation date.


Zina is totally haraam.
