Art thou, O Great Prophet! to all mankind,

Never on earth a noble soul has trod,

Never had another showed a true way to God,

Never on earth a better soul was born,

Never the world did a purer soul adorn.


Man was fast sinking in idolatry and sin,

When thou they great mission did first begin,

From the Arabian deserts thou taught mankind,

How the trust knowledge of God to find,

Then in place of darkness thou Light did give,

And taught mankind the noblest way to live.


A more perfect Prophet never can we find,

Than thee who, thank God, gave Islam to mankind,

My life, my all, for thee I gladly give,

They divine messages shall with me for ever live,

My love for thee no bounds doth know,

In my heart they mem’ry shall forever glow,

May Allah shower His Choicest blessings on thee,

May Allah grant thee peace for all eternity.

I would travel a million miles to see him


The glory of mankind the best of creations


The one i love more then my ownself


His heart so pure full of peace and harmony


He opened so many eyes to show them the straight path

the true destiny


He gave us Islam through his life we learnt the way


Whenever he walked in darkness he shun a beutiful ray


All the time i want to shout his name with all my

power and all my strength so beutiful is his name


So when they ask who is your role model i say the best

of the best mankind Muhammad p.b.u.h


The position he was given and he took so beutifully


No one with imaan can doubt him there would be no islaam without him


All creation sing in praise


Of the one they call Muhammad p.b.u.h


At his birth angels assembled


Idols fell and mountains trembled


Let this nation stand united

Walking on the path of Muhammad p.b.u.h

If Prophet Muhammad visited you

Just for a day or two,

If he came unexpectedly,

I wonder what you would do?

Oh I know you would give your nicest room,

To such an honored guest,

And you would serve him your very best.

You would be the very best,

Cause you're glad to have him there,

That serving him in your home

Would be a joy without compare.

But...when you see him coming,

Would you meet him at the door

With your arms outstretched in welcome,

To your visitor?

Or...would you have to change your clothes

before you let him in?

Or hide some magazines and put

The Qur’an where they had been?

Would you still watch those movies,

Or your T.V. set?

Or would you switch it off,

Before he gets upset.

Would you turn off the radio,

And hope he had not heard?

And wish that you did not utter

your last loud hasty word?

Would you hide your worldly music,

And instead take out Hadith books?

Could you let him walk right in,

Or would you rush about?

And I wonder...if the Prophet ﷺ spent, a day or two with you,

Would you go on doing the things you always do?

Would you go right on and say the things You always say?

Would life for you continue

As it does from day to day?

Would your family conversations,

Keep up their usual pace?

And would you find it hard each meal,

To say a table grace?

Would you keep up each and every prayer?

Without putting on a frown?

And would you always jump up early,

For Fajr at dawn?

Would you sing the songs you always sing?

And read the book you read?

And let him know the things on which,

Your mind and spirit feed?

Would you take the Prophet with you,

Everywhere you plan to go?

Or, would you maybe change your plans,

Just for a day or so?

Would you be glad to have him meet,

Your very closest friends?

Or, would you hope they stay away,

Until his visit ends?

Would you be glad to have him stay,

Forever on and on?

Or would you sigh with great relief,

When he at last was gone?

It might be interesting to know,

The things that you would do.

Let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.

People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived,


reclaimed, and redeemed;


Never throw out anybody.


Remember, If you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm.


As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.


The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears,


The figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.


The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,


Because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.


The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,


But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.


It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows.

F4nzo, noori didn't write that lol, and I don't thnk she is claiming she did either. The last one which is quite lovely is by Sam Levenson and the previous one is adapted from a poem about Jesus by someone called Lois Blanchard Eades. Noori is not claiming authorship, she has attributed the first one which is heavily abridged.


Noori, it is good practise to credit each author and in the case of the modified one either to provide a source, if the version you read was identical, or to explain what has been done to it, ftr.

What do you see when you look at me

Do you see someone limited, or someone free


All some people can do is just look and stare

Simply because they can't see my hair


Others think I am controlled and uneducated

They think that I am limited and un-liberated


They are so thankful that they are not me

Because they would like to remain 'free'


Well free isn't exactly the word I would've used

Describing women who are cheated on and abused


They think that I do not have opinions or voice

They think that being hooded isn't my choice


They think that the hood makes me look caged

That my husband or dad are totally outraged


All they can do is look at me in fear

And in my eye there is a tear


Not because I have been stared at or made fun of

But because people are ignoring the one up above


On the day of judgment they will be the fools

Because they were too ashamed to play by their own rules


Maybe the guys won't think I am a cutie

But at least I am filled with more inner beauty


See I have declined from being a guy's toy

Because I won't let myself be controlled by a boy


Real men are able to appreciate my mind

And aren't busy looking at my behind


Hooded girls are the ones really helping the muslim cause

The role that we play definitely deserves applause


I will be recognized because I am smart and bright

And because some people are inspired by my sight


The smart ones are attracted by my tranquility

In the back of their mind they wish they were me


We have the strength to do what we think is right

Even if it means putting up a life long fight


You see we are not controlled by a mini skirt and tight shirt

We are given only respect, and never treated like dirt


So you see, we are the ones that are free and liberated

We are not the ones that are sexually terrorized and violated


We are the ones that are free and pure

We're free of STD's that have no cure


So when people ask you how you feel about tha hood

Just sum it up by saying 'baby its all good' ;)[/color]

WOMEN OF THE VEIL

Her long, thick, shiny black hair

Fell against her back.

Her rich, copper skin

Gleamed in the sunlight.

Her slender figure outlined,

With her soft voluptuous curves.

But when she stepped outside,

She became a ghostly figure of the night.

Nothing more to the people

Than a dark, shadowy figure of oppression.

But she showed them.

As she walked down the street,

People made way,

Men lowered their gazes in utmost respect.

And others whispered,

As she held her head up high,

With pride in her belief

And showed them how oppressed she really was!

While they whistled at their women,

Looking them up and down as they were pieces of meat to be inspected?

She pitied their savage ways.

As she walked into the arms of her partner,

Her only love, Her husband.

Where she was transformed,

Into her beautiful self,

For only his eyes to see.

Ignoring typos and the like it is a little cliched but not a bad first effort. It would work better as a song. I think you should pursue songwriting.

Poems are about expressing your thoughts and feelings. It isnt necessarily about having to rhyme, or ensuring that it is gramatically correct etc. Its an art. It doesnt even have to make sense - except to you of course! 😉 Continue writing, and you'll get better and better inshaAllah. But its a good poem - i liked it 🙂


I could imagine little kids reciting that poem in their assemblies or something :--) Why not make a part 2 of the poem, and start to write about Muhammad (saw)'s life..?

I disagree. There are many rubbish writers who should be disillusioned or taught early on. If you can't write and want to do so you need a really good mentor, and I should think quality reading makes for better writing. Just my opinion. This is a general comment and not directed at F4nzo.
